گذشته استمراری در زبان انگلیسی (past tense + progressive aspect)

فاعل + was/ were + فعل+ ING : شکل کلی

I/He/She was having a shower when you called.
We/ You/ They were watching TV when Bob arrived.

منفی
فاعل + wasn’t (was not)/ weren’t (were not) + فعل + ING

I/ He/ She wasn’t having a shower when you called.
We/ You/ They weren’ watching TV when Bob arrived.

شکل پرسشی
کلمه پرسشی + was/ were + فعل + ING


What were you doing when Bob arrived?
What was she doing when you called?

عمل مستمر و ادامه دار در گذشته:

I was working in the garden when my sister arrived.
من در حال کار کردن در باغ بودم زمانی که خواهرم رسید .

I wasn’t working in the garden when my sister arrived.
من در باغ کار نمیکردم وقتی که خواهرم رسید .

Was I working in the garden when my sister arrived?
آیا من در حال کار کردن در باغ بودم زمانیکه خواهرم رسید ؟
