Pictured above is one of the most infamous crime duos in American history, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, more commonly known as Bonnie and Clyde. Born only a year apart (Bonnie in 1910 and Clyde in 1909), the two Texas natives quickly climbed to the top of the most wanted list in the U.S.
-
The two teamed up in January of 1930—soon after Clyde finished a 20-month stint in prison—and went on a 21-month crime spree across the U.S. robbing gas stations, small banks, and restaurants.
-
During the last few months of their crime spree, the duo engaged in several different shootouts with law enforcement, murdered two police officers in Texas, killed a constable, and kidnapped the police chief of Miami, Oklahoma, to name but a few things.
-
The couple eventually met their demise because of a friend’s betrayal. Law enforcement from Louisiana and Texas ambushed Bonnie and Clyde with a roadblock in Bienville Parish, Louisiana, on May 23, 1934. When the couple tried to flee the roadblock, police opened fire killing both of them.
