Lynda Carter was born on July 24, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona. As a child and on into her teen years, Carter took classical dance and drama lessons. She also showed a great deal of interest in music. In fact, she attended Arizona State University for a short time and then dropped out to tour and sing with a band. -
During the early 1970s, she returned home to pursue a career in modeling. Shortly after, she entered a local beauty pageant and did well. She then went on to win the title of Miss USA in 1973. Shortly after that, she began a career in Hollywood. -
After making guest appearances in a few different television shows, she landed the role that would solidify her as a legitimate star when she was cast for the part of Wonder Woman in a 1975 ABC special. Despite the fact it was just supposed to be a network special, in 1976, Wonder Woman made it into a series. After its first season, it was then produced by CBS for a few more years. -
After her flagship role as Wonder Woman, Carter went on to appear on such shows as “Law & Order,” “Two and a Half Men,” and “Smallville,” along with a few movies.
